Ever since I was a little girl I have loved stories because for a few moments you can visit another time and place while staying exactly where you are. All you need is carved out time, a chair and a book. You get to step into someone else’s shoes, observe their triumphs and tragedies, battles won and battles lost. More often than not, one becomes more enlightened after reading or listening to a good story.

In this world I believe stories are perhaps the quickest way to the human heart. Maybe that’s why when Jesus walked the earth He told them to people. Everything and every person on the planet has a story behind it. People have the most interesting stories if we just take time to listen. Stories can teach us about love, compassion, kindness, the strength of the human spirit as well as about evil; stories can inspire us to be better people. Many of my songs have come about from observing or listening to people’s stories whether that be from the Bible or from real life. In every song, in every story - whether it be about triumph or tragedy - I want to communicate that God is such a Beautiful Being Who is ever so faithful and present. Hopefully, people’s hearts and minds will be touched and afterwards they will feel like they have experienced and heard something worthwhile.

Over the past two years, Christie has captivated audiences with a diverse array of releases. Her 2023 Christian album, Feet in the Water, showcased her faith-driven artistry, while Fare Thee Well, a collection of instrumental piano pieces, displayed her delicate and expressive piano work. That same year, she delighted fans with her Christmas album, A Song in the Air, featuring her daughter Chloe’s fiddle playing, adding a touch of Texas charm to holiday classics like Rudolph & Frostyand Silver Bells, alongside Christie’s own heartfelt originals.

In 2024, she continued her creative momentum with multiple singles, including Lazy Day, Traveling Light, Last Bite of Bacon, and the heartfelt Roseville Fair. Her Christmas release, Who Comes This Night, a stunning cover of the Dave Grusin and Sally Stevens composition, blended strings, clarinet, expressive piano, and a choir to capture the warmth and sentiment of the season.

Christie Cook’s musical journey continues to unfold through heartfelt storytelling and acoustic beauty. Her most recent Christmas release, I Saw Three Ships, was inspired by Alfred Noyes’ poem and the beloved traditional carol, weaving together piano, cello, Irish fiddle, whistle, bass, percussion, and heartfelt vocals into a nostalgic Celtic ballad rich in imagery and timeless storytelling.

More recently, Christie released Wishes Won’t Behave, an uplifting acoustic folk song about letting go of expectations and trusting that life’s best gifts arrive in their own time. This summer she is back in the studio mixing several new original songs for release over the coming year, beginning with There Was a Time—a folk ballad inspired by the true memories of an elderly gentleman who recalled life in the farming community of Nacogdoches, Texas more than a century ago.
